Mountainbike obsessed village without without the bling, great place.
Silvan:
Best hardcore Singletrack east of Melbourne, Trails like JJ's,Bottlecaps and Temple of Doom, just to mention a few, are making sure that Silvan has got the cred for advanced riders.
Buxton:
Buxton forms part of the Mountainbike triangle of Narbethong and Lake Mountain, you got to visit the Cathedral at least once a year to make up for your sins.
The You Yangs - Youies:
See ya at the Stockyard for some wild Boulder shuttles, strap in for a wild ride.

Forrest - Ottways:
If you like beer and mountainbikes Forrest is your place.
Lotsa flow trails amongst grasstrees and a brewery in the middle, good stuff
Lysterfield:
Lysterfield, a lake, some nice trails and plenty of roos.
Melbournes mountainbike playground, easy access to some nice trails for the whole family
Mt Buller:
Home of Stonefly and Epic.
Good summer destination for some nice highcountry riding, and there are lifts as well, grouse.
Bright Victoria:
Brilliant Bright Village in the midst of the Vic highcountry has got it all.
From DH shuttles to challenging all day rides Bright is well set up for mountainbikes, and did we mention the Bright brewery?
La Larr Ba Gauwa Harcourt - Victoria:
About an hours drive from Melbourne you find La Larr Ba Gouwa in the township of Harcourt
Most excellent Mountainbikepark for all year round riding
Falls Creek:
Some good trails now in Falls, check out High Voltage.
Home of McKaos, now there is a bit of crazy good mountainbike fun.
Lake Mountain:
Alpine riding close to Melbourne.
Must do shuttle and ride ths Cascade trail, magnificent views and lots and lots of switchbacks.
Castlemaine:
Castlemaine the Pines and the Goldtrail
Stay in historic Castlemaine have some great riding nad make sure you have a bevie at the Castlemaine Brewery.
Upper Beaconsfield:

Plenty Gorge:
You wont belive that such mountainbiking terrain is within Melbourne city limits.
Plenty Gorge is truly gorgoeus, plenty of challenging terrain for all skill level.
Lots of trails,not well marked, you will get lost, great for explorers, or get a mate who know the Gorge.
