Redesdale Garmin 24 hour 2011

Redesdale Victoria 26.11.2011.

Team Wombat re-union race since being absent from competition since 2001.

Its been 10 years since we raced as Team Wombat so it should be a big race to mark the occasion.

The Garmin 24 hour event in Redesdale promised to be just that.

Saturday 26.11.2011 Race Start 1200pm.

Conditions were ideal if you were a fish or a duck and mountainbiking quickly became a mudfight.Continious rain turned the track into a slippery slide and heavy mudtyres were the order of the day.We love dirt and this was BIG dirt.

We had a good go and very soon decided to retire for a few cold beers and wait for the weather to become a bit more friendly.

Sunday 27.11.2011

Blue sky around 4.00am made us quite happy and so we went back to bed to contemplate a Wombat restart.

6.00am brilliant sunrise and great breakfast was all we needed to get back into the swing of things.

Track was almost dry and grippy and very very nice to ride considering all the rain the day before.(Did we mention Grip).

Sunnies and Sunscreen were the order of the day and we finished the 24 hours on a high.
